Do you have to have a
medical condition in order to use Genesis Medi Shuttle?
No. Our service is not limited to any particular
age, medical condition or disability. Many clients find that our service
is simply based on comfort and/or convenience and may be to a social
appointment rather than a medical one. We have provided many trips
for weddings, funerals, church services or even a day trip to the
mountains.
Would it be all right for a family
member or designate to escort my mother during transport?
Yes. We welcome one other rider to accompany the
client and there is no extra charge for this service.
Are you able to administer any medication
or medical treatment during transport?
No. Although Genesis Medi Shuttle does employ
capable professionals, we do not provide medical services and are
subsequently not authorized to administer medications. We can assist
a client with their medication, but cannot administer it to someone
who could not otherwise do it themselves. Caretakers or family members
who accompany the client may administer medication according to
the wishes of the client, their doctor and according to that person’s
skill and training.
What hours will you pick-up and transport
a patient?
We are very flexible in our hours of operation because
we know that your appointments may be very early or late. With enough
notice we can accommodate just about any request. Please call and
we can discuss your needs.
What kind of notice is required to
schedule a trip?
Transports are scheduled on a first come first served basis
and will also be subject to availability. If you have a definite
date and time that you require, we kindly suggest you contact us
as soon as possible, even if it is weeks in advance.
My Dad hasn’t been feeling well
and we would like him transported to a hospital. Can you transport
him to the Emergency Department?
Genesis Medi Shuttle can not transport to the Emergency
Room and we believe that an ambulance should be used for this type
of transport. We can however transport to any other Unit within
the hospital if the patient is being seen in an "Outpatient"
capacity or if he/she is a direct admit to a Unit other than Emergency.
Do we have to pay for the trip immediately?
What methods of payment do you take?
We will generate an invoice after the completion of the transport
and typically this is mailed out a week later. We do not require
payment at the time of the trip. We accept payment in the form of
personal cheque, VISA, or Mastercard.
